Welcome!
What do people think about Jan 11th as a character creation session? Maybe starting the first adventure depending on time.

One more important thing! Among the premade adventures, I am using The Forgotten Forge which is in the back of the core Eberron book. DO NOT read it. And it is pretty easy to get the plot synopsis for the other adventures, BUT DON'T. I know players would not do so on purpose, but with the internet it's easy to stumble across things on accident. The complete list of adventures I will be using (for this first series) is; The Forgotten Forge, Shadows of the Last War, Whisper of the Vampire's Blade, and Grasp of the Emerald Claw. And there are other pre-made Eberron adventures out there for higher levels I may use in the future so it might be a good idea just to avoid them all together. ...as you were.

Hi folks! It's been awhile. I forgot I even had a login here. I'll be checking up on things here soon. I'm super busy with orders for the next week or so but I start working on a character soon.

It'll be good to roll dice with (and see) you again! And I have an Eberron book if you want to borrow it.

Is everyone still up for Jan 11th, 7pm as a character creation session?
Meeting at Reefwood's? (assuming he is ok with that)

I'll be home by 6pm, so if anyone feels like coming over early to avoid the initial snowfall, feel free to do so. Sil has my Eberron book right now, so I won't have that until she gets here, but I do have the 3 core D&D 3.5 books if anyone needs them to get started on their character.

Just remembered that there are penalties to failing a Disarm or Trip attempt.
One of the nice things about using a reach weapon, such as the whip, to Disarm or Trip is that it helps to avoid the initial attack of opportunity if the target can't reach you... but once you hit your target and fail, I suppose the other end of the whip is in the hands of the target... so it can try to pull the weapon out of your hands or drag you down unless you let go.
