I'm thinking along the lines of a second line fighter. Since we have a front line fighter and a blocker, he can stand behind them with a whip or spiked chain and deal damage. Rabbit: If you don't have plans for him, how do you feel about me playing the bodyguard that was with Elaydran Devown when we debriefed the last mission?
If that works, what level should I make him? And how much starting gold?
Another thing, I was pretty interested in going with a whip. I remember some sort of whip variant that dealt regular damange, rather than non-lethal. I can't seem to find that anywhere. Does anyone know where that is? or was that just 3.0? If I can't figure out how to deal regular damage with a whip, I'll go with a spiked chain.

I'm considering switching my STR and WIS scores. Right now I'm a 12 WIS and a 7 STR. If I did switch them, racial modifiers would bring me to a 14 STR and a 5 WIS.
On the plus side, this would make me much more fightery, and a robot with really low WIS might be fun to roleplay. On the down side, it ruin my will save, spot, and listen, and roleplaying really low wisdom and high charisma could be difficult, especially since I'm supposed to be the face of the party.
Me being more of a fighter might also affect your character decisions, Icnivad.

Now that we have played through the first adventure players can re-tool their characters or start fresh with new ones. If you are using the same character you must keep the ability scores you rolled, but you can adjust skills/feats/equipment/etc. I'm considering switching my STR and WIS scores. Right now I'm a 12 WIS and a 7 STR. If I did switch them, racial modifiers would bring me to a 14 STR and a 5 WIS. Can we switch around ability scores? My ability scores are pretty low-to-average (5, 12, 12, 9, 13, 13), but I like the character, so I'm sticking with him. I will probably tweak some skill points, but I may switch ability scores too, if that is an option, but no worries if it is not. Seeing as how my guy is the only one who can really use detect magic, I may boost his Spellcraft and have Heal and Spellcraft be the two skills he keeps maxed out for the Dragonmark Heir prestige class prerequisite (7 ranks in 2 skills).

You can move abilibty scores around, but you can not re-roll for an existing character. Sorry if that was not clear.

Dee'noh would like to look for a periapt of wisdom +1 during the two weeks off. It is a wondrous item with a price of 1,000 gp.
The default CL in the DMG is CL 8, but this is not a prerequisite, and Dee'noh (CL 3) would actually be able to make this item himself if he took the Craft Wondrous Item feat. It would cost 500 gp and take 1 day. It would also require 40 XP, which is only 2% of the XP needed to go from 2nd-level to 3rd-level. Anyway, he is not taking that feat, but I thought it would be neat to see the creation costs since the topic has come up.
An example of an item with a CL prerequisite is the pearl of power:
The default pearls of every level are apparently CL 17, but the only level prerequisite to make a pearl is being able to cast the spell level that you want in the pearl. You have to be at least CL 3 to take the Craft Wondrous Item feat, but then, you could make 1st or 2nd-level pearls as a CL 3. Or 3rd-level pearls at CL 5. You would only need to be CL 17 to create 9th-level pearls.
