I've had this thought in the back of my mind for a few months now but finally said it the other day... would anyone on here want to play D&D during the day on a weekday?
I've had a weekend work schedule for a few years, and now that I don't sub, my weekdays are very wide open. I'm actually hoping to switch my cab shifts to weekdays next year, but even then, I'll have at least two free weekdays.
Of course, this wouldn't happen until after I get back - so not til March at the earliest...and maybe just once a month...and I'm still good to play other games on weeknights...but since I have free time during the week, it would be nice to use it for gaming on occasion, as well as play a session without having to worry about everyone getting sleepy at the end. So far, Sil is interested, and we're putting out feelers to see if anyone else can do it.

I actually really like playing games during the day, but I'm afraid my job is a Monday through Friday kind of thing. Good luck!

I would love to, but I work Mon-Fri and that is not likely to change any time soon.
However, I would agree that I enjoy playing during the day. Should I get involved in another game in the future I would be into playing games (for me, that's Sat/Sun) during daylight hours. I think it could be fun to play a game for a few hours then go out for food/drinks.
Good luck getting your day game going!

PS: this could be something that icnivad would be interested in. He at least has a schedule where he can be able to play during the weekdays. I mention him because I don't know how often he checks this site nowadays.

Great to see some interest and availability! I'll work more on making this happen (and getting in touch with icnivad) when I get back.

Yeah, I could do a daytime game. If it's going to be during the weekday, afternoons work better than mornings.

I am back in Portland and still all about helping to make this happen, but it will have to wait til I find a place to live. Maybe we can give it a go in late March/early April. Will keep everyone posted!

I have acquired a dungeon am ready to start this die rolling The interested gamers so far are me, sil, michael, and icnivad. That seems like a decent- sized group, but adding new people to the mix is always fun. It would be nice to have a pool of 5-6 potential gamers because I don't imagine that everyone will make it to every session. The one rule I like to follow is if there are gamers who miss a session, that they have some priority in getting to play next time. Of course, the DM has top priority since s/he is running the session. Which brings me to another point.. While I do seem to be the spark or driving force or whatever behind this idea, I am more than happy to be a player if anyone wants to take the DM chair or rotate it between various people. For any games that I do run, it will be a Pathfinder single session adventure, which I could probably do about once a month. But I'm happy to play 3.5 or d20 Modern. Also, if someone wants to run a non-D&D game, that seems fine as long as other people are interested. When it comes to scheduling, it seems like the best way to go is for the DM to propose a game & date, and then see who is interested & available. That being said, it would be good to have an idea of what weekdays/times are best for everyone. Monday after noon is pretty much always open. Tuesday is usually good too, preferably after 3:30pm, but I could play earlier. Friday is a maybe because I try to not work right before my regular work weekend shifts, but sometimes I do if I don't pick up enough extra shifts during the week. Wed and/or Thurs is when I try to pick up extra shifts, and I probably won't be available these days this month because I am trying to work a lot after missing 6 weeks, but my schedule should ease up in April How about the rest of you? Availability? Thoughts? Etc?

Hi-Ho! I'm leaving for Chicago tomorrow and will be back next Tuesday. I'm totally down for this!
I'm pretty much open to any day but would prefer to play after 2 unless it works for others to start before. Mondays are generally kind of hectic but I could carve out some space.
I have not had a chance to play Pathfinder and am stoked to put the book I have to use! So, that would be my first interest.
I'm also traveling a bit in April but they are generally a Thursday night to Monday dealies. I got a free ticket to Coachella for running workshops in mid April and my Christmas gift from my parents is a trip to Vegas for some reason and that's at the end of April.
I know some other folks that are interested so let me see who pipes up when I mention it again!

(Pardon the interruption but as your game(s) kick up I’d like to mention that if this weekday group finds themselves playing the occasional game after 5:30/on a holiday/on a weekend I would be happy to play that wandering bard who lends a hand for a session before disappearing down the road. Just saying.)

Wandering bards are pretty sweet.
Also, I talked to icnivad the other night. He's still up for this too.
And I have an adventure idea brewing.

Excellent! Looks like we have a core group set up I'll wait until sil gets back to town before posting details (and to see if anyone she knows wants to join), but if no one else feels like running the first game, I am going to aim for the first week of April.

I am back! but now I can't remember the folks that were interested in the group. One was a guy I don't really know at all so I feel kind of weird about it. I'll keep looking of we are interested in another person. April sounds great.
