Well, fuck. What about the afternoon (or even the morning) of the 15th or 16th? Cara and Elias are going to be out of town that weekend, so playing during the day is a lot easier for me than usual.
Incidentally, if this doesn't work out, what about those of us who can make it playing something else? I'd be down to run Mouse Guard. Michael, would you be able to do a M&M game?

The 16th is the Adult Soap Box Dirby and that is pretty much an all day thing. I wanted to go to that so that is out, at least for me.
I could do something during the day of the 15th. (I just have a 12:45 hair cut appointment and flexible dinner plans for the evening.)
If we are getting together for something else I am also available the 14th after 6pm.

Yeah, I can do Mutants and Masterminds on Thursday, if everyone is amenable. I'm could also do the 15th or 16th, for either M&M or D&D.
In fact, I'd be up for playing something next weekend even if we can't get everyone together for roleplaying. Should Franco and/or Talik be unavailable on the 15th, would you be up for something like Diplomacy? (Provided we can get enough people.)

I can't on weekends during the day cos of work. I get off around 7pm, so I could play around 7:30pm.
Playing something on Thursday evening works for me too. Although, if we were going to do M&M, could character creation be part of the session?

Yeah, we can do character creation as part of the session. There were a couple details of the quest I wanted to tweak, based on your characters, but it's nothing big. Most of it I could probably do as you design your characters.
If you could get a concept (background, attitude, basic powers) posted on here by Wednesday, I'd appreciate it, but it's not critical. You shouldn't need to go over the rules at all to get a concept, either. The system supports almost anything you could come up with, so you can have a pretty clear idea of your character before you ever look at the book.

Do we know yet if we're playing D&D or M&M on Thursday?
Talik, are you definitely not going to make Thursday? If you don't, do you mind if we play the first session of Mutants and Masterminds without you?

I will try and get you (michael) my character concept soon. so we are going with a Guardians of the Galaxy theme here, right?

I was wondering - what year is this Guardians of the Galaxy stuff supposed to take place? Is it just supposed to have a Silver Age feel, or is actually, like, 1962?

so we are going with a Guardians of the Galaxy theme here, right? Yeah, we're doing the Guardians theme. Your character can be pretty much anything, though. It's really just the Justice League with a trope to more easily allow for inter-planetary quests. As far as tone, I was thinking something in the vein of 70s and 80s comics. Most heroes have a strict code of not killing, and villains don't usually kill you, even when they win. However, death is still not unheard of. If you want to be a hero willing to kill, I ask you to be more Wolverine killer than Punisher killer. (You still work kind of well with a team, and understand that they frown on killing.) Also, only one of you is allowed to be a loner. And it'd be nice if at least two people had personal lives outside of being a hero. (If none of us do, I think it limits a lot of the things we can do in the future.) EDIT - As far as wackiness vs. realism, comics in that era were pretty good at both. I figure we can mix it up from quest to quest and just have fun with it. The actual date will be 2009.

Hey... maybe we should move all this M&M talk to the M&M thread? I've got a character idea and will post it in there.

Hey All, I just wanted to chime in here. There is not really enough time to get a game in before Talik and I leave for a week or two.
I know it has been a long time since the last game, but I am still very interested in continuing this game. When we get back I will hit you up about scheduling another game night, and I would like to get back into a semi-regular playing schedule again.
Sound good?

Definitely. I'm looking forward to picking it up again, and trying out all the other games we've got.
What are the dates you'll be gone, by the way?

It looks like I may be away from Sept 11 - Oct 10, and if so, I'll miss out on the revival, but feel free to NPC my character.
