A chance to do some online roleplaying. I figure if we might not play for 3 weeks you might enjoy this. Also, if you want to leave this tavern of do something else in role play just let me know.
It is early evening and the sun has set on Marsh Bay though the end of day does little to quell the bustle of the city’s streets. Sailors and locals both wonder into taverns looking to spend their wages. In one such bar, The Prestidigitation, four heroes sit.
The tavern is filled with the mixed smells of steaming oysters and other cooked sea-bounty. A spell caster of some sort performs tricks at one end of the bar. Within his palms a magical mist changes color and form to the “oows” and “aahs” of onlookers. The room is full of other drinkers and revelers enjoying the night, and few take notice of the unusual group of four sitting at a corner table…
You sit huddled together in a side booth. Just an hour ago you battled a Babau for your lives. The Babau was defeated and banished (if legend holds true) to Hell for one thousand years and a day. There is little comfort in that thought. The demon seemed to know you; perhaps not by name but by description and by deed. And it knew the name of the succubus, Eludecia.
Demon vendettas aside, you are busy enough. In just a few hours (tomorrow) you planned to be setting sail for a teleportation experiment that should transport you nearly half way across the world.

Balancing a small dagger on the tip of a finger absent-mindedly, Kuvpax takes a sip of his warm milk with the other hand. The kobold was not sure what he thought about the wizard they would be traveling with. On the one hand, Wogan had not wronged them in any way, had been honest and upfront with his dealing with the ring, but something itched at the back of Kuvpax's head that he couldn't put his finger on.
"Thank you all for coming along on this perhaps foodhearty attempt to teleport a boat. I have been on many journeys for these magicians before, and while events rarely go as planned, they are never without excitement." He pauses briefly to look around. "Something about this Wizard, Wogan, makes my hairs stand on end. I think we should be a little on guard around him. I feel he would not hesitate to cross us if it helped him reach his goal."

Ziff sat in the bar with his friends, lazily scratching Lord Stoutmuzzle, deep in thought. His first reaction to the wizard Wogan Puck was wariness. However, upon further reflection, he came to the conclusion that this was not enough. Indeed, feeling anything less that rage would be utterly inappropriate. After all, this malevolent mage had defiled the home of fair Andolyn and noble Gendrew! He had nearly caused the Heroes of Duvik's Pass to lose their lives in a maelstrom of melted cheese! And he consorts with Demons and Devils! Yes, righteous fury! Certainly, that could be the only proper response.
Right after the small druid had decided that he would be angry, a voice broke him out of his revirie.
"-zard, Wogan, makes my hairs stand on end. I think we should be a little on guard around him. I feel he would not hesitate to cross us if it helped him reach his goal."
Already having worked himself up, Ziff stood up proudly the instant Kuvpax's words were spoken. (And succeeded in making himself shorter, as he jumped down from his chair.)
"A serendipitous statement, kobold Kuvpax, for I was thinking the same! We must keep close eye on this evil fiend, lest he try more trickery! Indeed, perhaps it is best that he will accompany us. For we are the heroes of Duvik's Pass! We have defeated demon babaus and beasts mechanical! Eliminated ettercaps and evil spirits, ground goblins and golems to dust! Obliterated oozes and orcs, wedigos and... uh... Weird fish-things! None have bested us! Truly, if any are able to prevent the problems produced by this Puck, it is us!"
Ziff felt it was one of his best speeches yet, and made a mental note to use more alliteration in the future.

Darven sits up straight. He twists his back from side to side. It still tingles. A funny feeling leftover from the pipe that healed his wounds.
The tricks at the end of the bar catch his attention for a short while, but before long, Darven ponders his more recent grasp on these mystical energies. A gift given in return for his dedication to the hunt. For a long time goblins were his quarry. Being more around his own kind as of late, however, showed him that they could be just as treacherous. Luckily, it did not take long for the hunter to learn their weak spots. After all, they were his as well.
The conversation and commotion of the small ones draws Darven back to the scene at hand. He considers their worries and points out that eyes might be on them as well. "Is that pet of his able to speak? If it is indeed what you say caused all that trouble at Gendrew’s, I bet its master knows about us too."

"Yes, I assume he does know of us. I suppose there's not a whole lot for us to do other than sit tight and wait." Having finished his chips, Kuvpax shakes the remaining broken pieces out of the ceramic bowl and places the bowl in center of the table.
"Perhaps we should be more concerned with that demon who found us. If he was sent for us, and was clearly able to find us here, in this big city, without any trouble, I assume they could find us wherever we go, weather it's on a boat, or across the sea." He reaches into his cloak and pulls out a pair of dice and 3 silver coins. He places the coins in the bowl, and the dice on the table in front of him and looks up, "Bones?"
Once everyone who is going to play anties up, he stands up on his chair, tosses the two dice against the wall. As soon as the dice leave his hand, he snaps confidently as they settle to their place.
OOC: Rabbit, do you want to handle dice outcome? I think we should keep the dice rules simple and just play high hand takes all.

OOC: Rabbit, do you want to handle dice outcome? I think we should keep the dice rules simple and just play high hand takes all. Rules for a dice game: DM rolls the dice. Once a few players have responded their character's interest I will roll them bones then post results. (Every character playing rolls two dice, whoever rolls the highest wins. For this I want to keep in simple.) Rules for a card game: Each player rolls D20 (for cards dealt) + Charisma Bonus (for bluffing, etc) + Int Bonus (card counting, figuring odds, ect)

Ziff leaned forward against the table and adopted a grim expression. (If one is not giving a heroic speech, one must always look grim when discussing dangers that lie ahead.)
"Valid concerns, to be sure. And I agree that being hounded by demons is a greater threat. However, perhaps we should still consider Wogun and his imp the greater concern." As he speaks, he tosses the ante into the bowl.
"After all, there seems to be very little we can do against the demons. If they are able, they will seek us out, and we will fight them. As for a proactive solution, I see none.
The wizard and his familiar, though, they are the devils on our doorstep. Wogun's companion would make an excellent spy, and if he does know who we are, I suspect he will be watching us. Not only that, but if and when we are attacked again by demons, who knows where their loyalties will lie? He is close to these creatures, as we all know."
Ziff falls silent and watches expectantly as Kuvpax throws his hand forward and the dice skitter across the floor.

Darven listens to the little ones debate. A pure evil out of their reach seeks vengeance against them. A rotten soul with unknown ends shall be by their side.
"I can hide our path from men and beasts, but demons... it took magic to defeat that foul wretch," and his eyes fall on the gnome and priest, "Could magic be used to mask our presence from them?" Then, shifting his gaze toward Kuvpax, "The Bloodwise may have such means, yes?"
As he waits for answers, or even speculation, Darven pulls out a marred axe and tosses it on top of the coins tosses his own coins into the pile.
[OOC: Throwing axe has 1 out ot 2 hp. Not sure how it's worth should be valued. Normally, it is worth is 2 gp (20 sp) and can be sold for 1 gp (10 sp), but the damage might make it worth half those values? I misread the numbers on the weapons chart. A throwing axe is 8 gp, not 2 gp, so Darven would have just tossed in coins instead.]

Each player takes their turn rolling the dice.
Kuvpax rolls 5 and 3 for 8. Ziff rolls 6 and 5 for 11. Darven rolls 3 and 2 for 5.
Ziff is the winner!

Darven sighs as his losses continue to add up, albeit negligibly this time. "Looks like luck is on your side tonight little one," he remarks to Ziff. "Maybe we should side on your caution. Keep an eye on that wizard and his imp." [OOC: Darven bet the damaged throwing axe in place of 3 sp because I misread the weapons chart and thought a regular throwing axe cost 2 gp (so maybe only worth 5 sp damaged), but it is actually 8 gp. Also, I assumed that him throwing in a higher amount meant that the others had to match his bet. So, would it be okay for him to have only tossed in 3 sp instead of the axe? I edited my last post but can easily change it back if not.]
