Shadowrun 4th edition is next on my list of games/setting to run. Other than playing 1st edition a few years ago the system is new to me, and it looks like the system has changed notably since even then. It is interesting to see a futuristic setting from the early 90s working to keep up with real technology. And I am taking the time to actually read the whole core book cover-to-cover, which is a first for me. Any real games are months away, but I may put together a few test scenes to feel out the system sooner. In the mean time, I wanted to start a thread here to stir up/ test interest in this group. If you are interested let me know. The nature of the game will make it more missions based so players can drop in and out, and have multiple characters to use depending on missions. You might want to peek at the 4th edition core book and I can keep you in mind for when I do some tests. And I want to consider opening up the player pool so if you have some people you might be interested in joining PM me. Again, this game might be more a series of missions rather than a linear campaign so players can come and go.

I'm interested in trying this out. Could we possibly have a group character creation/rules primer session in person sometime? I've read part of the book, but I'd rather learn the game from another human being.

I'm interested in trying this out. Could we possibly have a group character creation/rules primer session in person sometime? I've read part of the book, but I'd rather learn the game from another human being. Totally. I was planning on having a get together with interested people and spend an evening working on characters and going over the rules. That same night I would like to have a really basic mission that touches on the most common features. There are also pre-made template characters for common archetypes. If players wanted they could use these numbers (still developing the character’s personality/ background/ etc. of course) while they learn the rules. Also, the last time I played Shadowrun one big obstacle I noticed was trust between the characters (characters, not players.) All this sneaking around the shadows made people paranoid. So that is another reason I want to spend at least one session focused on characters creation. I would like players to build their characters together so some overlap develops, but we can talk about that later.

Hey everyone…I noticed that no one has posted in quite some time, but I am really interested in joining a SR game. Anyone have any leads on viable games? Thanks.

Howdy Kodes, There isn't a SR game going on at any tables right now (that I'm a part off at least.) However I am starting up an online only game with some players. If that's something you're interested in I can hit you up down the line if we decide to add more players, but that might not be for a while.
