www.burningwheel.org/wiki/index.php?title=Burning_Wiki:About(copy and paste the above address to see the site) This is the next system that I wanted to run. It definitely has a few quirks that set it apart from more conventional games, and I think it works best when the gameworld creation is more explicitly collaborative, so I was thinking that it'd probably be best to get together for a night just to create characters and get familiar with the mechanics, brainstorm, play through some dummy scenes, etc. Would anyone be interested in doing that sometime in the next couple weeks?

Yeah, I'd certainly be interested in it. I've definitely gone on the same role-playing bent you have.

I am interested, but with what little info I have glanced at I do not quite understand how the system works. Having an evening where we get together and discuss it all would be a good way to start.

So Rabbit and Michael? When would be a good night to get together?

Yeah, it's a cool system with a pretty simple basic mechanic that's applied in a bunch of different ways, but there's a lot of philosophical stuff built into the rules that I feel like it'd be easier to convey in person.

Wednesdays evenings are usually good for me, but I think next Wed I'm busy... could do it on Tuesday eve.

I would be interested in checking this out as well if it fits into my schedule. Honestly, though, I'm so busy that you guys should plan without me, and if it ends up being on a day I can make that would be awesome.

Well, should we try to do this on Tuesday? Would that work for everyone else? Otherwise, maybe we should put this off until next week or the week after.

Okay, I talked to Rabbit last night and he was saying he wouldn't be able to make it, so let's come back to this in a couple of weeks.

Like I said last night, I still would like to get together and kick the tires on this for a session or two. Is there a night next week that would work for people as far as just making characters and talking about mechanics?
Also, we actually have a couple of options. One is to try the BW game proper, which isn't setting-specific and has a bunch of different subsystems and a plethora of options for character creation. The other is to try Mouseguard (http://archaiasp.com/mouse_guard_rpg.php), which is by the same designer and is built on a more streamlined version of the BW rules. Either one is fine by me - it's kind of just a choice between a crunchier, more open ruleset and one that might be a little easier to get right away.

I could do most any day next week other than Mondays. Not sure if he is interested in this, but I know Talik will not be available Wednesday(s)

I could do it any night next week. I think I have a slight preference of Burning Wheel over Mouse Guard, simply because I've yet to read Mouse Guard, but I'd be fine with either.
EDIT: Ok, I won't be free on Thursday or Friday next week, due to a miscommunication between myself and my sister. Apparently, I will be in Alaska from the 11th to the 22nd.

Well, how about Tuesday? Would that work for you, Rabbit? Tuesday should probly work for me. Oh, and my preference does sway toward the Mouseguard story, but I'm cool with whatever.
