Hey everyone, thanks for coming over last night. I'm sorry character creation was taking so long - as usual with games, everything seems to require an hour or two more than you think it's going to. Anyway, I'm glad we got to talk about the mechanics a bit, and I'm looking forward to giving Mouseguard a shot. Oh, and Mikey, here's a link to the Orc chapter from the Character Burner: www.burningwheel.org/wiki/images/8/89/Revised_orcs_01_13.pdf

Yeah, I had a lot of fun. I'm pretty excited about Burning Wheel now. There was a specific character concept that I wanted to try the next time I rolled someone up in DnD, but I think it would work much better in BW. I'm really looking forward to trying this out.

I also had a lot of fun going over the systems for MG and BW. I'm looking forward to checking out how they work out in a game.
I would also like to say that I am really enjoying that we keep checking out new (to us) systems. These two new ones, CoC, and even DnD 4th ed and Pathfinders. ;D

Yeah, I think I've mentioned this before, but since I've gotten on my big RPG kick I've kind of had these two conflicting impulses - wanting to check out as many systems as possible, but also really wanting to find something I'd want to run a campaign with. Right now I'm still sort of wrapped up in the first half of that - I've still got copies of D6 Star Wars and Primetime Adventures sitting "on deck," as it were, but I'm really enjoying looking into all these different mechanics.

Someone should run Serenity and Shadowrun 4th edition one-shots! Maybe I'll look into after the summer. The library does have copies of both books... and I just put them on hold

I still have Mutants and Masterminds in the back of my head, too.
And a super hero type setting might lend itself really well to an episodal multiple one-shot set up (which I have been enjoying as GM.)

Yeah, I totally understand. I think I've kind of gone the other direction as my schedule's been so busy lately. I've pretty much cut out learning new systems in favor of playing systems I know and that look like they might end up a longer campaign. That said, I played d6 star wars as a kid and remember it being quite a bit of fun. I think there's a d20 version out now that we could probably pick up from the library or download that might be fun to give a spin. The star wars universe offers a lot of interesting premise.
