I'm pretty sure I can play on Tuesday - I'll post for sure tonight or tomorrow.
As far as the cloistered monk is concerned, I'm definitely interested, but I want to mull it over for a while before I make a decision one way or the other.

Good job!

Thanks again for running this, Rabbit! It was quite suspenseful. Please don't take my exhaustion as any kind of reflection on your game - I'd been up since five, and I was pretty destroyed by the end of the night. I had fun!

No worries - we have all been there! Yeah that was an intense session. And I have plenty pretty much ready so I don't need anymore planning time. Bu the next day I am available would be Tueseday the 29th. Or the Thursday the 1st. What say you?

I actually don't have a free night next week - what about the week after?

So I've enjoyed our Den of Heroes games immensely since they started, but I think that last night was my favorite play session yet. We went through 3 settings, all of which offered distinct experiences, and none of which felt rushed. I really loved having my character befriend Goblins and get shit-faced with a bunch of Orcs, and the tension from Talik's situation was great. (Although it certainly would have put a damper on things had there been a different end result.) Anyway, there were a lot of different elements, and they were all balanced well. Kudos, Mikey.
As far as our next play session goes, I'm pretty open. Classes start for me next week, but Monday is my only evening class. For the beginning of the term, my work load will probably be pretty light, so week after next should work fine.

For scheduling; I am available most of that next week (Tuesday 6th onward.) Would you guys be interested in playing Friday (the 9th)?
It could be fun trying to do a session on a night when we do not have to go to work the next morning. Otherwise maybe Wed?
And thanks for the complements about the game so far. It is funny how before the game started I was a bit panicked because I was not sure I would be ready yet.
Also, I really like the way this part of the world is developing. Yeah, there was some notable changes in the tone throughout the session. [behind the curtain: The pre-made adventure I am using was actually in a generic dwarven tavern. But I created the goblins and orcs because I thought that was a lot more interesting. We actually did not get very far into the “dungeon” sequence! So I am glad that you like it so far.]

Wednesday the 7th or Friday the 9th would be great for me. I think I have a slight preference for Friday, but anything works.
As to the tonal shifts throughout the session, I think that the events surrounding the shift made it work. Instead of us playing out the trip across the plains, it became a montage of us being led by our Goblin companions. After a traveling montage, it's almost a necessity to have a big change in tone. Had we played through the journey, it would have been a more startling shift.
Having Talik go off on his own helped the tone shift from the tavern to the dungeon really well, too. Instead of it just being, "Now we're in a dungeon," there was a juxtaposition of Harry and I in the tavern and Talik going deeper and deeper into danger on his own. Then we cut away from Talik with his fate still uncertain to have Harry and I go look for him.
I liked where we left off as well. We get into our first battle with a ridiculously easy enemy, but to me, there was this implication of "Now the hard part starts," then a big To Be Continued got slapped across the screen.
Anyway, the way the story unfolded was perfect.

Yeah totally. The story played out in a way that could not really be planned. It was one of those sessions things where everything just worked out. It did play out pretty cinamatically.

I updated the map in the Locations and NPCs thread. This may help you all get an idea of where in teh known world you are right now. Let me know if you have any questions.
