Origin: The Galactic Guardians have one of the most advanced super computers known to mankind. A mix of human and alien technology, it would be a marvel of its time except few knows it exists.
The Galactic Guardians have given their super computer several primary objectives to consider before running any programs; preserve human life, protect the Galactic Guardians, uphold the GG Bylaws, etc.
When the boy genius Brian, of Brian and Brawn, set to building the Paragondroid (an android version of Paragon with unclear, but certainly diabolical intentions) he enlisted the super computer. Brian’s plot was coming into conflict with the super computer’s core programs, but being the genius he is, Brian easily over-road the computer’s resistance. However, the super computer was able to implant a virus into the Paragondroid. The experimental program lay dormant so it escaped initial detection. Once the Paragondroid was deactivated the virus was activated and came alive.
The virus is an experimental Artificial Intelligence program created by the super computer. While not sentient itself, the super computer computed that there are several issues blocking its ability to carry out primary objectives: not having a body and not being able to think laterally being two big ones. So it infected the Paragondroid with the virus/program having calculated the rogue android’s immanent defeat.
With limited hardware the virus is inferior to the super computer in every way. But it is continually adapting and improving; learning. The virus has adopted the shell that was Paragondroid as its own body and given itself a hero’s name. Fusion.
