Going to handle corrections and notes one creature at a time. Sir Grolton, 1st Cavalry(new features in red)Human Cavalry L2 Druid L1 Fighter Health:HP: 30/30 (22 class +6 con +2 preferred class) StatsStr: 20, +5 (18 +2 item) Dex: 12, +1 Con: 14, +2 Int: 12, +1 Wis: 16, +3 Cha: 9, -1 Sir Grolton needs a weight. Give him one that makes sense. I weigh ~140 lbs and am pretty weak. He is very strong. Fortitude should be +1 higher because a Drd2 has a bonus of +3 and Ftr1 has +2, so +2 Con gives a total of +7. Please list your flat-footed (15) and touch (11) AC for easy reference. Didn't pay attention to how you were rolling during the session, but when damage is multiplied, multiple dice are rolled as opposed to multiplying a single damage roll, so charging attacks should list weapon damage as 3d8+3d6. Also, the merciful entry states that "On command, the weapon suppresses this ability until told to resume it (allowing it to deal lethal damage, but without any bonus damage from this ability)." To me this means a command word, and "activating a command word magic item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunity." So if you ever want to deal lethal damage, it takes a standard action to switch it over and another one to resume nonlethal damage. I assume you are simply listed the half ranks in Prof and Ride as a reminder to bump them up at your next level, but remember that these numbers round down, so Prof rolls are only +10 and Ride +11... except the Hide armor gives a -3 armor check penalty, so it is Ride +8. Did you use the correct modifier during the combat? And Survival adds up to +10, not +11, now that it is no longer a military skill. Please list your Wild Empathy (Drd2 -1 Cha = +1) for easy reference. Looks good, and as a reminder, the F1 feat can be swapped out if you ever make it to Ftr4. Look good here too, but also note your loads ( 76 lbs or less / 77–153 lbs / 154–230 lbs ...oops! Mistakenly listed the load for Str 16. Str 20 is 133 lbs or less / 134–266 lbs / 267–400 lbs). Sir G is currently at a light load. A medium load would not affect his armor check penalty since it is the same as Hide armor (-3), but a heavy load would impose a –6 armor check penalty. So he didn't cast any spells in the last session? And add his income pool.

Sir Grolton needs a weight. Give him one that makes sense. I weigh ~140 lbs and am pretty weak. He is very strong. I listed him at 150 in his mount's carrying capacity section. If you think this is too light, I could bump it to 160 Ok, I'll make the appropriate changes I was rolling each die once and multiplying as I thought that was how it works since it says "multiply the damage". I'm fine either way, but if I have to roll 6 die(9 if I get another enchantment) the math is going to bog me down quite a bit. Good to know about the merciful thing. I was rounding down on any .5 skills. Just listed it to be complete. Sir grolton did not cast any spells, but sir james' spell list reflects only what he has left.

If you think this is too light, I could bump it to 160 150 seems way too light. I was going to say at least 175. Again, I'm just trying to base it off what seems realistic, and when I am in a better shape that has me stronger, I tend to weigh a bit more, even if I look leaner. Of course, there are rules for rolling random height & weight, and I'm willing to find a middle ground. Based on random height/weight generation, someone who weighs 160 lbs is 5'6". I take this to be for an average person. Being really strong, I'd say he can be 160 lbs if he is 5'2". If you want him to be 150 lbs, he will be a very short 5' even. Normally, humans can't be any shorter than this. Yep, that's how it goes for the damage dice. It does say "multiply the damage" or something along those lines, but then goes onto explain how that is done. No worries about it this time. I figured there would be slip ups by everyone, myself included, because we are using a similar but different system. In general, it would be best for everyone to read through the entire entry of anything that applies to their character. Not only to be sure it is done correctly, but I think it will also be a good way to make sure people realize when things work different Pathfinder. Okay, just wanted to make sure. I thought I heard you talking about casting a spell when Grolton was down but didn't remember if that was actually what happened.

Normally, humans can't be any shorter than this. That seems pretty short. I'm 5'7, and I weigh 140 lbs and consider myself in fairly good shape and when I'm working out more, I actually tend to lose a couple lbs in loss of fat. People also tended to be quite a bit shorter back then, so I assumed he wouldn't be 6'2, as is normal for a modern large person, but would tend more toward my size but maybe a little bulkier. Looking up the weight of weight lifters, though, I see that Arnold Schwarzenegger weighed around 220 during his prime, but he's almost 6'2" and is build a bit more like a barbarian, than a knight. all I see under charge is "A lance deals double damage if employed by a mounted character in a charge." or under Spirited Charge, "When mounted and using the charge action, you deal double damage with a melee weapon (or triple damage with a lance)." As far as I can find, it doesn't go into any more detail. If you know of a place where it talks about this more, I'd love to read it. He used a wand when he was down to summon the stirge so he wouldn't provoke an attack of opportunity, and I depleted his wand by 1. He was thinking of casting the spell next round, but ended up lancing instead.

It looks like if Arnold was 5'8" and kept his build he would weigh 194lbs: //convert 3d to 2d square ( cu root(220lbs) ) = 36.44 //scale appropriately, 68=5'8", 74 = 6'2" 36.44*68"/74" = 33.49 //convert 2d to 3d cube (sq root(33.49)) = 193.79 lbs
If Arnie was 1" tall, he would weigh .35 lbs. If he was 10' tall he would weigh 454 lbs. If he was 100 ft tall he would weigh 14366 lbs and be seen smashing Tokyo.
I'm not sure that any of this helps my point, but I thought it was interesting. Since Sir Grolton is a night, and not a barbarian like Conan, 194 seems quite a bit big, so yeah, maybe 170 is appropriate.

Although, Brad Pitt in Fight Club weighed between 155 and 160 In Troy, he bulked up to 170-180. All of this is at 5'11.5" and I could easily see him swinging a lance in either movie.

Looking up the weight of weight lifters, though, I see that Arnold Schwarzenegger weighed around 220 during his prime, but he's almost 6'2" and is build a bit more like a barbarian, than a knight. Those are your options. I am imposing DM discretion based off the stated rules. I'm sure there are people out there of all kinds of heights that vary in weight and strength. There would probably be pings all over the board on a chart about this sort of thing, but I'm going with how it probably works most often, and if you're worried about the load on your horse, it doesn't look like it will ever be at a light load anyway (see below). With all the climbing you do, I know you're pretty strong, but I'm guessing you are not Str 18. Also, we are not playing in the past. We're in an alternate universe. Just so you know D&D is notorious for having a rule that is made up of several rules located in other places. I believe I quoted this section in reply to a prior question, and you can read up on Multiplying Damage in the Combat section, but this is the line explaining it, "Roll the damage (with all modifiers) multiple times and total the results." I am going to read up on the Stirge for the next session. I don't have any reason to think it was handled incorrectly. I just want to go over it better since my mind was a bit overloaded already when that came up.
Animal companion is looking good except for things related to equipment. Loyal Steed3 HD Horse Health: HP: 23/23 (17 class +6 con) Stats Str: 16, +3 Dex: 13, +1 Con: 15, +2 Int: 2, -4 Wis: 12, +1 Cha: 6, -2 Saves: Fort: +5 (3 class +2 con) Reflex: +4 (3 class +1 dex) Will: +2 (1 class + 1 wis) Defense: AC: 17 (armor: +3, dex +1, natural +4, size -1) Flat-footed 16, touch 10. -1 to Acrobatics because of armor check penalty for a total of +4. Missing some minor and vital information here: 1) Carrying capacity for a large quadruped is x3, so I get 228 / 459 / 690. It's a minimal difference, but loads for medium humanoids aren't rounded up, so I see no need to it for other creatures. Plus, if anything, numbers in D&D round down. 3) "If you are riding bareback, you take a –5 penalty on Ride checks." You need a saddle to avoid this penalty. Be sure to add this to load and deduct the cost from your income pool. Military - 20 gp - 30 lbs Riding - 10 gp - 25 lbs 4) With minimum equipment, I get the following: 150 Rider +10 Lance +25 Hide + 30 40 Studded Leather +25 Saddle = 240 lbs (medium load) This horse should have been at medium load in the last session. Again, what's done and done. Plus, the battle turned out to be harder than I expected, and I figured corrections would be needed afterward.

Mine was based off the simple bonus/penalty rule that is in the DMG. If something has an effect, make it +2 or -2. Basically, you count as +2" higher in the height/weight chart if you are strong and +4" if you are very strong.

haha. Yeah, I was mostly having fun with calculations(I go a little stir crazy programming all day sometimes). Lets make him Brad Pitt in Troy at 170 lbs at 5'11.5", long blond hair, blue eyes. I'll go over and fix the stuff later, my character sheet calculated the carrying capacity, but I think it was based on 3.5, so I'll adjust. or maybe there's a flaw in my formula

BACKGROUND Brion Shaw is the second of three sons borne to the great General Allistir Shaw. A powerful noble family with a strong military heritage, his service was a given since birth. Like both of his brothers, he was offered a command position straight out of the academy, in deference to his lineage, yet Brion declined. Preferring to earn his rank through actions rather than ancestry, he started as a grunt, serving beside conscripts and sell-swords as equals. His advancement still came quickly, though, as he proved himself a remarkably capable warrior and leader.
He's jovial, brave, friendly and well liked by almost everyone, yet merciless on the battlefield.

I updated my character sheet. I also dropped all of the attack types that I never use, and added shortspear and longsword. I can't remember if I did any charging on foot in the last session, but I think that I might have calculated it wrong. When not mounted on a horse, his charge is only x2 since he does not get the benefit of the spirited charge feat. I added his unmounted charge attack.
I also figured out what happened with the carrying capacity. It was a rounding error on my excel character sheet that only presents itself with four legged creatures where you take the max load, divide by 3, then multiply by 3 again, to get the light load (light load is always 1/3 max load, rounded down). What the formula was not doing was rounding down in between the two, but instead at the end.

It looks like you may have overlooked my previous set of corrections, and there is one major error in here, but I expected mistakes and forgot to look over your abilities before we started. We'll do it right from here on out, and that's what matters. Brion Shaw, lvl 3 Human Cleric of GorumChaotic Neutral 6'4'', 218 lbs WIS - 18 - +4 CHA - 16 - +3 STR - 15 - +2 CON - 15 - +2 DEX - 12 - +1 INT - 10 - 0 FORT - 5, REF - 2, WILL - 7 BAB - 2 [+2 STR] [+1 Greatsword] = 5 CM - 4 [2 STR + 2 BA] HP - 23 + 6 (toughness) +2 (favored class) = 31/ 29 currentlyAC - 18 [11 touch, 17 flat-footed] Toughness only provides +3 hp at 3rd level, so hp should be 28/26. And having that high Cha did prove very useful! In addition to being treated as class skills, military skills also provide a competence bonus equal to half your level, so Intimidate and Survival should have a +1 competence bonus. Selective Channeling was used incorrectly during the combat. You cannot select who receives the burst. It does the opposite. You can only select who DOESN'T receive the burst, and even then, it is only a number of targets equal to Cha modifier, so Brion can select only up to 3 creatures that aren't healed, but every other creature in the burst is healed. Also, please list somewhere the number of burst you have (8) and how many are currently left (1?) and the DC to halve damage from channeling (DC 14 / 16 undead... the +2 is from the Glory domain). A few things here... First off, your domain spells/levels are switched around. Glory provides 1st—shield of faith, 2nd—bless weapon. War provides 1st—magic weapon, 2nd—spiritual weapon. Secondly, you can only prepare one domain spell per level, so shield of faith or magic weapon, and bless weapon or spiritual weapon, but not all four. Thirdly, where is your list of regular spells? Did you use them all up? Even so, I would like you to list the number of spells you get per day (4, 3+1, 2+1), and the four Orisons you prepare can actually be cast at-will all day long. Lastly, what time does Brion pray? Dawn? Oh, and out of curiosity, who did you use the touch of glory and battle rage on during the combat? Please figure out the attack/damage stats for all your weapons, and list Power Attack options too. One thing to keep in mind is that you only have two-handed melee weapons, so you may want to take a ranged weapon and one-handed weapon from the spoils, and a shortspear is both. Sounds good, but I am going to veto the rope since it came up during the game that no one had rope, and it wound up being a desired item, so I am not going to let something sought after but missing suddenly appear.

When not mounted on a horse, his charge is only x2 since he does not get the benefit of the spirited charge feat. I added his unmounted charge attack. So no ranged attacks? That's fine since he isn't good at them anyway. As for the lance, the only time it does extra damage is while charging mounted. No extra damage for just charging or just being mounted. "Lance: A lance deals double damage when used from the back of a charging mount. While mounted, you can wield a lance with one hand." "Benefit: When mounted and using the charge action, you deal double damage with a melee weapon (or triple damage with a lance)." Looking better but still a few things to take care of.
