Personally, I don't think I'm going shopping for magical items - I like the idea of that kind of stuff being acquired in the course of my adventures. I'll probably just be picking up some of the more expensive mundane stuff from the PHB - especially a new suit of armor.

Here is the 'loot' you made off with in the last adventure: Gems Confiscatedworth 2,190 Clockwork Mask of the Mind Flayerworth 8,000Alchemists Workshop/Toolsworth 2,000A few questions for the DM and other players... 1) I know equipment and most other items sell for half value, but how do gems work? Are they just another form of money (like how we have paper money and coins)? So if you don't want to carry around a bag with 1,000 gp, you can just have a gem worth that amount? Either way, can we buy stuff with gems or do we need to swap them out for coins first? My paladin dwarf in the last campaign carried around gems instead of coins cos he was a dwarf and they like such things. 2) What about the magic ring that healed Eludecia back to life? Darven is neutral, so just because something is evil doesn't make him automatically against, but after almost being turned into a wendigo, he is a bit wary about an item that could change someone. He definitely wouldn't want to use it. 3) The Clockwork Mask isn't evil. It's just creepy, right? The wrestler I made for a one-shot that Harry ran could have tore things up with this item. However, Darven has no use for it. If someone wants it, that's cool, but if not, he'd be fine with selling it as long as it isn't to someone obviously evil or diabolical. Same goes for the Alchemist Workshop. I hadn't given too much thought to magic items because most that would suit Darven well are probably still out of reach, but off the top of my head: 1) Gloves of Dexterity 2) Mithral Breastplate 3) +1 Throwing Axes of Returning 4) +1 Ranseur 5) Animated Shield 6) Amulet of Natural Armor 7) Ring of Protection All these items will help some form of attack and/or AC. I guess Gloves of Dex +1 might be within price range and enough to boost his Dex mod by 1, which means that AC and ranged attacks and stealth go up by 1. Also, he might be able to afford a +1 enhancement to his current armor. Current AC is 17 or 18 when wielding two weapons. Although in flipping through the DMG yesterday, I remembered that Davren can use wands and even scrolls with a little luck. Some more bear's endurance would be handy and darkvision would let him sneak in the dark.

Same goes for the Alchemist Workshop. 1) yeah, gems are same worth like Franco described above. They trade for straight value in most places through out the world. 2) the Ring of Regeneration +1, that Eludecia wore as a part of her punishment was picked up by Kuvpax who descretly put it on . Though any character that wondered about it could eventually notice it on the Kobald's fingure. How you all want to handle it from there is up to you. The writting on it is Infernal, as is its origin. I will look up a worth for it. 3) the mask is not inherently evil. It seems to be built more out of magically enhanced mechanics rather than Evil Powers.

My wish list is pretty similar to Franco's. It's mostly things to boost my AC.
1) Rhino Hide Armor 2) +1 Darkwood Shield 3) Gloves of Dexterity 4) Amulet of Natural Armor 5) Ring of Protection
That's about it for things relatively close to my price range.
Franco, would you be interested in buying my short spear of returning instead of one of your throwing axes? You'll get a good deal on it. I don't think I'm going to bother with physical attacks any more. I can only do 4 damage at the most, and at this stage there's almost no point.
I'm also considering buying a tower shield made out of Darkwood. I wouldn't use it much when riding, because of the armor check penalty, but since I won't be attacking, it seems like a good thing to have around whenever I'm on foot.

This spear is made for a Small creature, so Darven would take a -4 penalty for using it. Although, something you may want to look into is adding the "spell storing" feature to the spear. That way it could do more than just 4 damage. But yeah, you're getting to the point where spells is probably the way to go for combat with maybe some wildshape too.

I updated the map in the Locations and NPCs thread. Also finally gave a name to the continent you have been on this whole time; "Kenden." The Area you are in the upper Western region.
Also, I am working on some wiki posts. I want to get them all written then post them all at once. When I do I will let you know what they are.

Okay, before I update my character, how much money are we each coming out of this with?

Assuming we sell off the mask and workshop, I calculated us getting 1797.5 gold each.
We have that ring of regeneration, too. I looked it up, and a ring of regeneration is 90,000 gold. Even sold at half price and divided 4 ways, that might be a bit more gold than Mikey wants us to have at this point. My thought was this; Since it's an evil item, crafted by a power demon in service of Hextor, it might be difficult to pawn off in a lot of places. In Fortune, though, it would almost certainly carry high demand. However, we're all on our way to Marsh's Bay, and don't have time to go there. Since we're meeting up with Captain Kurdow, we could have him buy it from us at a reduced price, (maybe 1/3 or 1/4) so that he can sell it in Fortune himself. Or we could ask him to sell it for us while we're away, and take the full payment of 45,000 when we return from our journey with the Mage's Guild. As an added benefit, these could open up future storylines for Fortune.
How does that sound to everyone? (Of course, if you wanted to let us sell it right now for 45k, Mikey, I don't think anyone would complain.)

On selling the ring of regeneration.
Similiar to Michael pointed out: You all have a feeling that selling something like that would be very difficult (but not impossible) and likely draw a lot of attention your way. In a roll playing sense; this is a different kind of magic. Crafted in Hell by powerful Devils. When anyone with arcane skills inspects it they can come to realize the magic woven into this ring is tainted with an unnatural aura. It does not even seem to be working within the same arcane principles of traditional magic. (I think some of you have spellcraft so this is what you could find out.)
Also, something that expensive you might find it hard to even locate someone with that kind of currency (who is also willing to part with it.)
Whatever you want to do, or try to do, with the ring will be up to the group. Depending on the course you choose it might be something we roll play.

Hey all... so I know we just figured out a steady schedule, and we are supposed to be playing the next session of Den of Heroes next Tuesday, but is there any other day next week that will work for everyone else?
I know Monday is out for Rabbit, and I can't remember if Wed or Thur is out for icnivad, but any evening other would work for me (Sun, Wed/Thur, Fri).

I can't do Friday, but I can't really do Wednesday or any other day next weekend, either. If Friday works for everyone else, why don't you folks go ahead without me for a session.
PS. Rabbit, I updated my character - I'll post his new stats after I get back into town on Sunday.
